When you work on a fast paced big city morning radio program in a highly competitive market you need big ideas and major league creative talent to turn those ideas into great radio.  Having Brian as our producer at the LG Morning Zoo gave us an edge no other radio in Vancouver had at the time. Because of Brian, we didn’t just play the current top 40 hits every morning,  we made our own music to play in between those great records: parody songs, zany jingles and so much more.  We wrote the words, but Brian made them ‘sing’, literally, often with killer harmonies, a full band, and sometimes even orchestration.  And for the most part it was all recorded and performed by just one guy: Brian.  Thanks to his talents, Brian helped us offer our listeners a whole different world of fun and entertainment.  Besides regular radio banter and gags and phone calls, we now had musical comedy. It diversified our sound and helped make the Morning Zoo an ever bigger success than it already was. Brian was ahead of his time back then.  It’s great to see him still playing and singing and creating today. 

I have had the pleasure of a musical association with Brian Nicholson for over 40 years, working in both capacities as a fellow performer and in music production. While always demonstrating a sensitivity and love of music, his experience in the field over the years has honed a very fine and artistic composer, performer and producer.
