My musical influences are as varied as they are deep. Like many Baby Boomers, I grew up with the timeless sounds of The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and the Doobie Brothers—music that became the soundtrack of my early years. As I got older, my musical world expanded, and I became fascinated by the beauty and complexity of classical music—Beethoven, Mozart, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, and especially my personal favourite, Rachmaninoff.
Along the way, artists such as Gino Vannelli, Yes, Larry Carlton, Steely Dan, 10cc, and many others found their way into my musical vocabulary. I’ve also developed a lasting appreciation for musicals, opera, country, jazz, and just about anything else that catches my ear.
With such a wide range of influences, it’s probably no surprise that my own music doesn’t fit neatly into a single style. And that’s exactly the way I like it.
